Sammy Hagar and Rick Springfield Raise a Friendsgiving Toast

This is the special time of year when family, friends and loved ones gather and rejoice in the spirit of the holidays over food, drinks and…maybe a few more drinks. To celebrate Friendsgiving on Wednesday, Nov. 22, Sammy Hagar and Rick Springfield are raising a toast to their 40-year friendship with two custom-crafted Friendsgiving cocktails, Somos Amigos and Two Turkeys.

The two rockstars, who are partners in the top-shelf Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, first collaborated in 1981 when Hagar penned “I’ve Done Everything for You,” which became a breakout hit for Springfield. The two icons remain close friends to this day and celebrate their second successful partnership with a pair of Friendsgiving cocktails featuring their award-winning Beach Bar Rum.

Spanish for “we are friends,” Somos Amigos (pictured at left) is a delightful rum punch with a festive twist. This freestyling jam session, featuring an all-star lineup of Beach Bar Kola Spiced Rum, cranberry juice and pineapple juice, is sure to be sweet music to your taste buds.

Showcasing the dynamic duo of Beach Bar Kola Spiced Rum and Beach Bar Red Head Rum, the only thing easier than making the Two Turkeys (pictured at right) is drinking it! A tropical twist on the classic rum and cola that will have you and all your friends “rumming” back to your kitchen bar for more.

Somos Amigos Recipe 

1 ½ oz. Sammy's Beach Bar Kola Spiced Rum 

4 oz. fresh pineapple juice  

3 oz. cranberry juice 

Garnish: fresh orange and pineapple wedges       

Preparation: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the Kola Spiced rum, pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Shake well and strain into a Collins or highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh orange and pineapple wedges. 

Two Turkeys Recipe 

1 oz. Sammy’s Beach Bar Kola Spiced Rum  

6 oz. cola  

1 oz. Sammy’s Beach Bar Red Head Rum

Garnish: fresh lime wedge  

Preparation: Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add Kola Spiced rum and cola. Stir well and float the Red Head rum on top. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
